Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics 그들의 Yoshimi Battle the Pink Robot이 대단한 앨범이라는 사실엔 반론의 여지가 없을 정도다. 말 그대로 수작중 수작이라 할만한데, 그런데 묘하게도 나는 전작에 훨씬 못미치는 At War With The Mystics에 애착이 간다. Yoshimi Battle the Pink Robot에서는 놀라운 사운드로 시종일관 감탄하면서도 긴장을 늦출 수 없었다. 마치 사운드의 제왕이 강림하시는 모습을 넋을 잃고 바라보는 기분이었달까. 거기에 비해 At War With The Mystics는 기댈 구석이 있는 앨범이었다. 여전히 독창적인 음향의 질감을 즐기면서도 한결 마음 놓고 쉬엄쉬엄 듣는 것도 나쁘지 않았다. 오히려 듣는 사이에 나도 모르게 즐거운 기분이 절로 든다. 이런 마음을 이런 기쁨.. 2006. 10. 13.
